ADR
The abbreviation ADR stands for the &#;European Agreement concerning the International Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Road&#; and refers to the French &#;Accord Européen Relatif au försändelse international des marchandises dangereuses par route&#;. The ADR comprises regulations for road transport with regard to packaging, load securing, classification and labelling of dangerous goods. They were first adopted in Geneva in Today, all EU members are also signatories to the ADR. The ADR became effective through implementation in the respective national law.
The provisions of the ADR are thus legally anchored and thus mandatory for the transport of dangerous goods. Furthermore, the ADR regulates how infringements or complete disregard of the regulations are handled and sanctioned.
Every two years, the regulations of the ADR are revised and adapted to reflect the latest state of the art and the law.
Contents of the ADR
The provisions of the ADR binding on the signatory Member States are divided into Volume inom and Volume II and comprise a total of nine chapters or parts regulating the international carriage of dangerous goods.

Vad betyder ADR?
ADR är ett europagemensamt regelverk för transport av farligt gods på landsväg. Den svenska versionen av regelverket heter ADR-S och ges ut av Myndigheten för samhällsskydd och beredskap (MSB). Innan MSB bildades 1 januari gavs ADR-S ut av Räddningsverket. ADR är en förkortning för European Agreement Concerning the International Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Road.
Bakgrund
Farligt gods är ett samlingsbegrepp för ämnen och produkter, som har sådana farliga egenskaper att de kan skada människor, miljö, egendom och annat gods, om de inte hanteras rätt under en transport. Begreppet transport innefattar förflyttning av godset med ett transportmedel samt lastning och lossning, förvaring och annan hantering som utgör ett led i förflyttningen.
Vem behöver ADR-utbildning?
Förare som transporterar farligt gods ska inneha förarintyg som är utfärdat av Räddningsverket eller MSB. Förare som transporterar farligt gods som så kallad värdeberäknad mängd omfattas inte av kravet på förarutbildning. Beroende på vilken behörighet en förare har behov av på sitt ADR-intyg måste föraren välja vilken utbildning han vill gå.
